Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was orignally developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) but, after substancial research, has also shown to be effective with a variety of disorders, including depression and anxiety disorders.

 

DBT helps provide clients new therapeutic skills to manage emotions and to decrease relationship conflicts by focusing on 4 areas:

  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpesonal Effectiveness
